NCLD has worked for 45 years to improve the lives of people with learning disabilities by empowering parents and young adults, transforming schools, and advocating for equal rights and opportunities. Take Action with NCLD: Introduce the RISE Act In Your State

Students with disabilities thrive in college when they have the supports they need. However, many students with disabilities are denied their essential resources because their IEPs or 504 Plans are not accepted as proof of their disability by their college or university. The Respond, Innovate, Succeed, and Empower (RISE) Act addresses this problem by requiring colleges to accept a student's IEP, 504 Plan, or prior evaluation as sufficient proof of their disability when seeking accommodations.

NCLD already advocates for a federal version of the RISE Act in Congress. But now, we are looking for individuals to help us introduce the RISE Act at the state level across the country!
